{the illuminated word-March}

Wow! I can’t believe that my last post was back in January for this project. That was probably the last time I took out my camera. Things have been so busy-so so so busy. I keep waiting for it to slow down as though it’s a season that will pass, but it’s life. Our life. What I’ve realized is that you can be so busy (even with good, fun things) that your life passes you by. You don’t have time to take out your camera and capture the everyday, you don’t have time to catch up with good friends you dearly miss or to enjoy a meal sitting down at the table. Suddenly life gets turned into one big “to-do” list needing to be checked off.

Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God…..

I love this verse. It’s so simple and yet so important. It is so easily overlooked, yet so impactful. Be still-stop moving, stop thinking, stop worrying, stop and just be. Realize that I am God. I am with you. I have it figured out. There’s no need to fret, stress, or be anxious. I love that he takes care of us, that he wants to take care of us and allow us just to be and to give our worries and problems to him. I love that he loves us so much that he doesn’t want us to waste a second. I love that he loves us so much that he’s already taken care of it. I am slowly learning what it means to be still. What that can do for you. How much richness that adds to your life.

Jessica - Yes, love that He’s already taken care of everything. And finding the richness in stillness of life. Amen :)

Such a sweet picture. Beautifully displays your scripture choice.

Stephanie - Love the image! And love the verse. Totally needed to be reminded of this for what’s going on in our life right now.

Sarah - LOVE this! Thanks for illuminating this verse…it’s one I need to remember in this season of my life!!!

Rachel C. - The more I think about it, worry and control seem to be two sides of one coin. I worry when I want to be God and then realize that I don’t have the resources and character to shoulder that weight. I want to know God’s weight-iness. I want to be still. Thank you, Jessica.

Sarah D - Such a simple and beautifully powerful scripture. It is something I really needed to hear amidst all the craziness of my daily life!

Gail Pomare - you have combined one of my favourite ever scriptures, with one of my favourite ever images of yours…and the BEST write up and thoughts to go with it. Masterful my friend, masterful.

I need more ‘be still’
